Splitwood Men’s Hair is a full-service men’s salon located in a private loft setting in downtown Durham. Owned and operated independently by Bess Roslinski, the studio offers a personalized, one-on-one grooming experience designed with attention to detail and comfort in mind. Hi, I’m Bess—a men’s haircare specialist with over a decade of experience in precision cutting and natural-looking hair color. After thousands of haircuts and color services, my passion for this craft has only grown stronger. To me, barbering is both an art and a form of service, and every appointment is an opportunity to deliver a thoughtful, elevated experience tailored to each guest. I specialize in laid-back, textured haircuts with natural movement—styles that grow out effortlessly and feel natural, not overworked. While I’m known for high-contrast bald fades, my main focus is creating soft, wearable shapes with plenty of flow and texture. I also specialize in lived-in, natural hair color, with multi-dimensional grey blending being a favorite for its seamless, low-maintenance finish from day one through grow-out. Every haircut service includes a shampoo, conditioning treatment, and a therapeutic hot towel for a relaxing finish. Splitwood Men’s Hair carries a curated selection of premium grooming and haircare products, including Uppercut, Goldie, Pureology, and Redken Brews—chosen to help you maintain your look between visits. Beyond the craft itself, I truly value the connections built in the chair and aim to create a welcoming, comfortable environment for every guest. I sincerely look forward to meeting you. If you are running behind, call or text and I will do my best to accommodate you; however, if another appointment follows, we may need to reschedule. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide notice so the time can be offered to another client. By booking, you agree to the cancellation and no-show policy. CANCELLATION POLICY
Please allow 24 hours notice for any cancellations. Appointments cancelled within 24 hours of service time will be charged 100% of the service fee. I understand things come up, just give me a heads up! No-show appointments will be charged 100% of the service fee and unable to book future appointments. If you are 5 minutes late, we may need to reschedule and you will be considered a late cancellation appointment and charged 100% of the service(s) booked.
